Northern Education Trust
The Wilson Foundation has provided funding for the Northern Education Trust (NET), which supports programs, projects and capital improvements at Meetsetshehla High School in Vaalwater.
Meetsetshehla High School is a unique school in that it works as a public/private partnership. The school is situated on private land and is supported by both private and government funding. The school, which serves students in Grades 8 – 12, was originally established to provide the best possible education for the poorest of the poor in the Vaalwater area and surrounding farms; however, due to its strong Grade 12 matric results, the school's enrollment has grown substantially and students now come from a much wider area.
Funds given through The Wilson Foundation and its donors have helped to provide capital improvements to the school, including the science lab and additional classrooms. In addition, The Foundation has supported a Bridging Program to provide additional classes in English and mathematics for Grade 8 students who are behind in their learning. We are proud of the tremendous work of Meetsetshehla in meeting the educational needs of a wide variety of students. The school offers academic, commercial and vocational tracks to provide learning opportunities that meet the interests of each student and prepare them for the employment possibilities in the area and beyond.

There are many ways you can support our efforts to bring help and hope to the children of South Africa. While we receive many generous offers to donate products, supplies and other items, the cost to ship these items to South Africa is often prohibitive. Therefore, we encourage monetary donations to help meet local needs.
