Jeppe College
The Wilson Foundation's support of Jeppe College in Pretoria illustrates our commitment to "change lives, one child at a time."
Two years ago, The Wilson Foundation was given the chance to change the life of a young man in Vaalwater. Simon had graduated from high school but had no job and no opportunities. But Simon had a dream - to earn a university degree in hospitality services and perhaps work for an airline. With no other options to help him pursue his dream, Simon waited by the side of the road in Vaalwater one day when he heard that Trisha Wilson was going to be in town. He approached her and asked for The Wilson Foundation's help in pursuing his education.
The Wilson Foundation agreed to help this ambitious young man with his education - including tuition at Jeppe College, textbooks and lodging. A group of donors who learned of his story raised money to purchase a laptop to help Simon in his studies. With help from our South Africa-based representatives, Marion and Angus Frew, Simon had an internship at one of the game lodges near Vaalwater, where he got hands-on experience working in all aspects of food and beverage service and general hospitality/guest relations. That internship opportunity reinforced his interest in his chosen field.
Several months ago Simon graduated from Jeppe College with his college degree - the first member of his family ever to attend college. He is currently training to work as an airline cabin crew member.
We are proud to have helped change Simon's life - to provide him the opportunity to earn his college degree and work toward achieving his dream. There are countless others like Simon who ask us to make a difference in their lives. Won't you help us?

There are many ways you can support our efforts to bring help and hope to the children of South Africa. While we receive many generous offers to donate products, supplies and other items, the cost to ship these items to South Africa is often prohibitive. Therefore, we encourage monetary donations to help meet local needs.
